The police noticed something unusual substance in her hair. Nobanda found near the Qatar Airways flight. She caught with 650 gm cocaine mixed with baking powder in the Bangkok airport. Then, she served her punishment in prison for 7 years.

She touched the ground of the Tambo International Airport on September 19, 2019, and became emotional. Apart from that, she cooperated with the immigration officers.

 

Nolubabalo Nobanda was born to her parents in 1989 (age 30 years old in 2019) in Grahamstown, South Africa. Her father was a worker in a factory of Cape Town. Furthermore, Nobanda’s mother worked in a school as a cleaner.

She faced financial difficulties in her life. However, she forced to leave her school education. They did not have any money to pay the fees. Her elder brothers and sisters joined laborers in her farmlands. She recognized by her nickname in the public i.e. Babsie.

 

 

However, her Nigerian friend allured her to be in illegal activities.She went with her to Brazil and took the hair products.Nolubabalo Nobanda did not have any idea related to the drugs.Furthermore, she asked to deliver the 1.4 kg of cocaine to the customer in Bangkok’s hotel.The immigration and narcotics department caught the other culprits involved in it.Babsie released from the Bangkok prison in August 2019.She then reached to the Immigration Detention Center for further processing.

Hank Vanstaen who is Belgian based Thai resident helped her in her tough time.Nobanda discussed her suspicious friend Thando Pendu.However, Pendu used the innocent people in human trafficking and freed in May 2019 under the royal pardon.Vanstaen’s job is of help and supports the innocent South African people who stuck in any criminal cases.
