Riyaz Naikoo (born in 1985) was a former professional math teacher and terrorist, from Beighpora Village, Awantipora tehsil Pulwama District, Jammu & Kashmir. He was famously known as the operational commander and leader of a terror group named “Hizbul Mujahideen”.

It was a banned terror group in India which was controlled by Riyaz. Before adopting terrorism, Riyaz Naikoo was an intelligent and well-educated person. He worked as a professional maths teacher at a private school in his hometown.

Apart from this, he also helped the poor students by providing them, free tuition classes. In the year 2010, there was such a twist that a promising person like Riaz adopted terrorism.

Riyaz Ahmad Naikoo (age 35 years; as in 2020) became an important part of Hizbul in a very short time. The kidnapping of the family members of the police officers, the salute with guns on the death of the terrorist started these moves, which was becoming more dangerous. Because of his image, Naikoo led much Kashmiri youth on the path of terror.

On Tuesday night, the security forces received information that Riyaz is present in the Naikoo area. Simultaneously, a big crime is being hatched. On the basis of this information, the army surrounded the area. Seeing themselves surrounded, the terrorists started targeting the security forces. During this, the army spoke of surrendering to the terrorists. Despite this, they kept raining bullets.

The Hizbul Mujahideen operational commander was born as Riyaz Ahmed Naikoo in the year 1985 in Beighpora Village, Awantipora tehsil Pulwama District, Jammu & Kashmir. Riyaz died at the age of 35 years old in the operation of Pulwama district, Kashmir Valley.

His father “Asadullah Ahmed” is a tailor and runs a small tailor shop in J&K. His mother “Zeba Ahmed” is also a tailor and takes care of the shop along with his dad.

Riyaz Naikoo completed his schooling from a local private school in Noorpora. After that, he did his graduation in major of Mathematics and Science from J&K university. He was an intelligent person by birth. After completing his higher studies, he started working as a teacher of maths in a private school in his hometown. He worked there for many years.

 

Many people started rioting. Many peoples were caught by the police. Naikoo was also one of them. He was released in 2012, but by then he had completely changed. He has since fled from his hometown.

Then on the same night of 2012, he took 7 thousand rupees from his father for admission to further studies at Bhopal University. Then he never showed up after that night. A month later, it was revealed that the son had become a terrorist.

After escaping from home, he became a part of Burhan Wani’s terrorist dal. He committed many crimes together with Burhan. The 30-year-old Riyaz Naikoo became the new face of terror for the people there after the death of Burhan Wani in 2016.

He was a resident of Avantipora. He was made the commander or head of the Hizbul Mujahideen following the death of terrorist Sabzar Bhat last year. Even before this, he was surrounded many times but he managed to escape.

 

The kidnapping day was started by Riyaz Naikoo to put pressure on the police. On this day, 11 family members of 6 policemen’s house were kidnapped in South Kashmir. All were later abandoned.

But in return, Naikoo’s father was rescued from police custody. It was Riyaz who started the gun salute again. The terrorists give it on the death of their commander. In this, during the funeral of dead terrorists, a bullet is paid in the air to pay tribute to them.
